Charlie Pyne is a London based double bass player and is the solid backbone of some of contemporary jazz's most exciting talents. Charlie's Album "Dancing Shadows" is out now and available on all platforms. Featuring Luke Pinkstone on Saxes, Liam Dunachie on Piano and Katie Patterson on Drums, Dancing Shadows is a collection of thoughtful, melodic songs with lots of groove and an atmosphere of storytelling. Since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2009, specialising in jazz double bass, she has built a career on her solid groove, classic playing style and infectious cheerfulness.

Charlie has played at many of the capital's finest venues including the Royal Festival Hall, the Purcell Room, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Ealing Jazz Festival, Crazy Coqs, Jez Nelson's Jazz In The Round and Ronnie Scott's. She is also an accomplished singer and is a regular featured artist (bass / vocals) at the Piano Bar at The Ivy and Boisdale Restaurants. In 2015 she played wth Yazz Ahmed for a specially commissioned piece for Tomorrow's Warriors with the support of PRS Women Make Music. Polyhymnia was premiered at the Purcell Room by a special all female line-up of the Nu Civilisation Orchestra at the "WOW! Festival", featuring a suite inspired by courageous and influential female role models. In 2016, Polyhymnia was recorded at the Hat Factory in Luton and was released at the end of 2019 to critical acclaim.
