Shelter Birmingham is an electronic music event held at the legendary Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath. The night has a cross-genre policy that tends to progress from Techno, through various strains of ambiguous Bass music, to Drum & Bass.

Initially started as a free party by Apartment:9732 in Nov 2011 to showcase the many facets of electronic music, the night has gradually grown and gained a diverse and loyal following.

Elkie & Sprite joined Shelter as residents, but a mutual love of diverse music lead to them teaming up with Apartment:9732 to help the event further progress. September 2012 saw the first 'major' headliner in the form of Samurai Music signee Tokyo Prose, all the way from New Zealand on the only UK date of his debut European Tour.

Guests and residents have included TOKYO PROSE (Samurai Music), SAM KDC (Auxiliary | Samurai Music), BambooClart (Shiva Soundsystem / Eat Good), Letter Emm (Full Up And Eating), Asanyeh (Rawganics / Dubkraft / Rotation Deep), Curious (Rawganics), Burlish (Movement Birmingham), Harry Basra (Face), and Shakk (Breakthru).

Already confirmed for 2013 are some highly regarded headliners so keep your eyes and ears open for more news, and podcasts with mixes from forthcoming guests.
