Birmingham Arts Mutual (BAM! for short) is a collective undertaking by a small group of creatively minded people living and working in Birmingham. Our aims are to help artists in the area be more productive, both creatively and economically, by working collaboratively.

Our first project 'A Small Revolution' is aiming to tie live music event revenues to recording projects, with the twin goals of establishing an additional income for musicians, and documenting a greater quantity of music produced in the region. Our first events are on the 30th March and 1st & 2nd March @ The Bristol Pear in Selly Oak.

We take the ticket money from the shows, we use the money to put the artists into Blue Whale Studios with Producer Rich Watts, we then put out limited run records with the sleeved designs created by Graphic Designer Simon Randall. We launch the records at events where the record cost is rolled into the ticket price. Repeat ad infinitum.

It's simple really, we're going to do this. If it's successful Birmingham will begin a phase of documenting it's music at a greater rate than ever before. If not, then it will have been worth trying anyway. All we need is 'you' to come along. Advance tickets are £4 or £3 for LUMSOC members. For that you get two full performaces, a short support slot, and the right to say you were there.
