Andy Spencer Information

Introducing Andy Spencer - a Funkin Good DJ. Andy Spencer has been involved in the music industry since the late 1980’s, but don’t be mistaken to think that he’s past it! He still shares the same enthusiasm and passion for house music now, as he did when he first started playing the likes of Farley Jackmaster Funk, Steve Silk Hurley and Nitro Deluxe! Obviously, a transition from vinyl to CD has occurred and now Andy has developed excellent skills on the Pioneer CDJ1000’s, and is always looking to embrace new technology. Today, he is arguably one of house music’s best-kept secrets on the DJ circuit, and can boast appearances in many UK and USA venues. Andy has attended and DJ’ed at the Winter Music Conference in Miami for the past 2 years, and has worked alongside the likes of Dave Pearce (Radio 1), Seamus Haji (Big Love), Sonny Wharton (Ministry of Sound), Rid Welson (Naughty But Nice), Tom Heron (Café Mambo), Miss Divine (Cream), Adam Le Saint (Rendition), Claire Spooner (Asuca), the HouseJunkies, and the late, great Tony De Vit (Trade). "I have never tried to copy any of the DJ’s that I have been fortunate to work with. It should be about developing your own style, and I have collected a wealth of knowledge about the way that other DJ’s work. Music wise, I have always been influenced by some fantastic house music labels such as Hed Kandi, Defected, MN2S, Toolroom and CR2." Memorable DJ appearances have been at Rapture in Loughborough, Club North in Manchester, GLOW & Filthy Funky in Walsall, Distinction in Shifnal, Raunch in Shrewsbury, Escapade in Newport, Studio 54 in Coventry, plus Tradewinds in Hawaii and the Ferry Terminal in Seattle. In 2005 he launched Funkin Good â€" a brand to promote ‘chunky, funky & soulful house music’, and has enjoyed much success in running various events throughout the Midlands. In May 2008, Andy collaborated with fellow Midlands DJ’s Alex Ross, Shaun Mynett and James Brewerton to launch FLUSH, featuring ‘dirty, soulful, sexy house music’. This monthly night in Cannock has gone from strength to strength, and is shortly to expand into Birmingham. "I still get a tremendous buzz from DJ’ing â€" from my track selection, building set lists, through to the amazing reaction you get from the audience, of any size! Over the past 3 years I found myself doing a lot more promotion which is very hard work, but get it right & it will get you the right results. Ideally I would like to further my remixing & production skills, but it is all about allocating quality time to each project." So 2009 is looking like being another hugely successful year for Andy Spencer â€" a hard working, experienced DJ with an immense passion for house music. Andy is managed by UK-DJs.net, BT Promotions and Event UK. Andy Spencer & House Music - a life long, passionate relationship to enjoy!
