Having always been musically inclined Mike Catherall cemented his love of House music in the mid 90's. Having played at numerous low key events and underground parties Catherall soon perfected his craft behind the decks. It was during this time a few years later that he attracted the attention of the promoter for Bolton's legendary Temple nightclub where he then made regular appearances alongside big name guests such as Laurent Garnier and Armand Van Helden. Soon after the turn of the noughties and following untimely closure of the Temple, Catherall became weekly resident at another Bolton nightspot namely the ever popular underground house venue Juice where he remained for the next 5 years earning himself a reputation as one of the best crowd pleasing Dj's in the Northwest. It was at Juice that Mike became acquainted with household names such as Alistair Whitehead, K Klass, Norman Jay and Jason Herd, the latter giving Catherall an opening and regular slot at Manchesters '2Risque' nights at North and Holy City Zoo/The Hangar. Frequent offers of work soon flooded in with appearances at Sankeys, Garlands, 'Coco Loco' and 'Retro' alongside the likes of Audio Whores, Fergie, Pete Gooding and Scratch Perverts to name a few. In recent years Catherall's music style has evolved with the times taking a more deep and underground turn opening up different doors in his career. Birmingham based promoters 'Discover Promotions' sought Mike out to play the main room at Pacha @ The Q Club NYE supporting Radio One's Pete Tong and DJing stalwart Seb Fontaine. Now having held the residency for the Cream Tour gracing venues across the UK Catherall has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Danny Rampling, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Seamus Haji, Sister Bliss, Tall Paul and Danny Howard. Since making his Midlands breakthrough Catherall has guested at Gatecrasher Birmingham, Space World Tour, Brothel and Ibiza Carnival at HMV Institute, Birmingham often supporting headline DJ's Todd Terry, Erick Morales, Yousef, Ibiza veteran Alfredo, Brandon Block and Alex P, Jonathan Ulysses and Boy George. DJing aside Mike is co-owner of Shakedown Promotions having launched the successful 'Shakedown' brand in 2007 and seeing the night pack out venues across North Wales, Chester, Manchester and Liverpool. Also, taking to the studio Mike has just put completion to his own track soon to be released having been producing tracks for others for a number of years. Regular radio station work includes live mixes on Galaxy, Radio City, Juice FM and a weekly live show on Prestons Rock FM.
