Carl Dennie Information

Raised in the East End of London, Carl started Djing back in the mid 80s as part of a sound system playing at blues parties, and has fond memories of making and carrying around huge speakers. Carl has been producing music since 1991, ranging from hardcore, happy house, pop, soulful house and R&B. Carl has worked with www.mbjstudios.co.uk alongside legendary producer Ben Jones, since 2001. MBJ Studio clients include: Busta Rhymes, Destiny’s Child, Chaka Khan, Kylie & Danny Minogue and Sisqo to name a few. Together, Carl and Ben have remixed tracks by Tears for Fears (lead track on Amstores Ibiza compilation), Michael Jackson's "Don’t Stop" and soul legend Billy Griffin's classic "Hold me tighter in the rain" (which were both promoted at the Miami Winter Music Conference 2010), as well as independent tracks such as "Sweet House Music" which was launched at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2004 by Tompin Records, Featuring R Kelly’s Supporting artist Shawn Cummins. Carl Launched Strictly Vinyl Sessions as a radio show on Pushfm in 2008 when Carl joined the station with a weekly show that he dedicated to playing vinyl. www.pushfm.com In 2009 Carl launched Strictly Vinyl Sessions as a Club Night at the Jazz Cafe in Camden Town London. The Club Nights have been a great success and have been supported by some of London's finest DJs, who still appreciate the feel and sound of vinyl, as well as artists from overseas, including: BLAZE, Josh Milan (Soul Heaven), Gordon Mac (Colourful Radio & Founder of Kiss fm), Bobby & Steve (Garage City, where Carl played alongside Legendary DJ Disciple in 2004), The Legendary Paul Trouble Anderson, Aitch Bee (Soul II Soul), Chris Phillips (Choice FM), Femi Fem (Colourful Radio & the 90’s soul funk group Young Disciples), Dave VJ (Choice FM), Deejay Philly (Celebrity DJ to Paris Hilton and P Diddy), Fitzroy Da Buzzboy (Solar Radio & Soul Survivors Magazine), Johnny Reckless (Reckless Records), Marcia Carr (Lady Bugz), Victor Anderson, Lady Duracell (Push FM), Mickey Cee (Push FM) Jake the Sax (Glastonbury/Womad/MTV/Top of the POPs), Bongo Man Flex (Space/Manumission/Pascha) 2010 saw Carl’s Strictly Vinyl Sessions @ the Miami Winter Music Conference where he played alongside Australian born Grammy award winners NERVO sisters whose credits include The Pussy Cat Dolls, OM records with signings such as Miguel Migs, DJ Michelangelo from NYC (music Director for Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent & Tom Ford), DJ Paulo from Brazil (B Bar resident) and Esteban Camacho (Mr Bongo Man) from Miami. 2011 and Carl starts a new Strictly Vinyl Sessions radio show on the Legendary Solar Radio. www.solarradio.com Monday nights 6-8pm.
