Sub:Soundz Was the Brainchild of 3 like minded people 5 years ago. Sam Edmiston,Freddy Davenport-Pryce and Bryn Simmons started the night after going to free partys for years,they got so bored of the same old thing everytime they went out, they decided to do there own partys.None of them expected it to take off as much as it did!!! After a year or so of doing very sucsessful partys all over South Shropshire they decided to take it up a level to Club Nights,on the off chance they rang Shropshire's number 1 venue The Buttermarket to ask whether there was any free dates for them to do a night,not expecting them to say yes,they were very suprised when the manager said they could have a date at the end of Jan 2005. There first event was Friday 28th January 2005 in The Cellars with the legends that are Ratpack!! Not really knowing how to promote a club night they did well, they got 300 people through the door which put them in good stead with the venue....they got a bi-monthly slot at the The Buttermarket and hasnt looked back since...At the start of 2006 Sam And Fred left Sub:Soundz to pursiu other things,Bryn's Brother Ian then joined to help with the work load. Sub:Soundz has gone from strength to strength and has had nearly every Big Name in the Drum n Bass scene upto Shrewsbury in the last 4 1/2 years!! Sub:Soundz is now the biggest Drum n Bass night in Shopshire!! Over the last year Bryn has linked up with the Legend that is Dj Phantasy(Devotion:London:Easy records) to start an offshoot night Called Spektrum...There idea is to bring bigger line up's to Shropshire for roughly the same price as before....So watch this Space...
