Mampi Swift Information

Mampi Swift, king of the double-drop, first stepped behind a set of Technics in 1990, and spent much of the decade making a name for himself as a DJ on the legendary pirate station Kool FM.     His production career kicked off in 1995, when he begun to release tunes on such seminal old skool labels as Suburban Base and SOUR as well as veterans such as TOV and Tru Playaz, and with the launch of his label Charge Recordings, Swift's career gathered pace.     The release of 'The One' on Charge in 1997, still getting massive club play to this day, signalled his arrival in the big league.     By 2001, and with the release of the monster 'Resurrection EP' and Swift's 'Mainframe LP' Charge was established as a major player. Although up to that point it had been exclusively a playground for the label boss, Charge014 signalled the arrival of a certain DJ Friction with his first ever release on vinyl, 'The Power EP'.     He went on to release on Charge again as part of Militia, whilst Fresh also appeared on Charge wax, as did long term collaborator Blame. Swift's output has continued as prolifically as ever and he can still be regularly found making appearances at The End for Ram and Shogun Audio in particular.
