The world's oldest electronic musical instrument has been given the treatment by the boffins at Moog and brought right up to date. And thanks to those men in white coats, if you buy your ticket before the weekend of the festival, you now have the chance to own one. The only instrument known that you play without touching, by moving your hands in the space around its antennas controls pitch and volume, the Etherwave is an authentic adaptation of inventor Lev Termen's original design.
The Etherwave is a quality musical instrument designed for ruggedness and portability. It has a five-octave pitch range and reliable spacing between notes for sophisticated playability. Antennas are nickel-plated 3/8" brass tube and cabinets are furniture-grade hardwood, finished with a custom Moog stain. The Etherwave is fitted with an adapter for mounting on a standard microphone stand and works best with Moog's TB-15 instrument amplifier.

Here are the rules and wotnots for the The White Noise Electronic Music Festival Moog Etherwave Theremin Competition brought to you by Moog in association with Source Distribution and White Label Music. Follow these and you might get your hands in close proximity to a Moog Etherwave Theremin.
The White Noise Festival Moog Etherwave Theremin Competition (hereafter the competition)is only open to holders of a pre-purchased festival ticket (hereafter the Moogers)- meaning tickets bought before the weekend of the festival through official White Noise Electronic Music Festival Ticket outlets.
The closing date for purchase of tickets eligible for the competition is the 25th of March 2009.
The White Noise Electronic Music Festival Moog Etherwave Theremin Competition will take the form of a blind draw, with the winning entry having correctly answering a simple electronic music related question.
All Moogers will be given a competition registration form on entering the festival which must be filled in with the Moogers name, address, email and an answer to the question to be deposited in THE MOOG BOX on the merchandising stall at the festival before the draw is made.
The draw for the competition will be made on the Saturday of the festival.
The competition is not open to employees or associates of White Label Music or the White Noise Festival.
