Description

After previous sell out shows around the UK Desi Central comes to Belgrade Theatre, Coventry with an amazing line-up and night of nothing but laughter.

Acts: Guz Khan, Mickey Sharma, Eshaan Akbar, Sunil Patel
Comedians:

Eshaan AkbarEshaan Akbar has established himself as an act with exciting potential. Winner of the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year 2016, Eshaan has been in the finals of other prestigious competitions. He performs worldwide & his professional career has taken him from private banking through to corporate communications via a career in local government public policy.

MICKEY SHARMA
Mickey Sharma's mix of comedy and another form of artistry (you will see what I mean) make him as unique as he is funny. His high and contagious energy helps him tame any crowd no matter their age, gender, ethnicity or amount of alcohol consumed.
Mickey is extremely comfortable anywhere on the bill; be it MC, opening or closing. A highly regarded act that will have you trying to copy his catchy material (unsuccessfully) for a long time after seeing him.Mickey is an Indian that was born in Pakistan (its true!) in '82 while his father was working for the Indian Embassy. After living in Pakistan, the family moved to Beijing, then Hong Kong, before finally moving back to India in '90, where he lived till 9th September '02, when he moved to Birmingham!Having endured various jobs like a waiter, shelf stacker, camera assistant and Bouncer, Mickey started comedy in July '09 and now works as a full time comic and travels all over the UK and sometimes abroad (Spain, Romania, India, Czech Republic). Amongst other competitions, he was Winner Bath Comedy Festival New Act Competition 2010.

GUZ KHAN

Guz Khan is an Actor, Writer and Stand-up Comedian from the notoriously gangster city that is Coventry. He first came to prominence through his comedic online videos which were performed in the guise of various characters that he created. He coined the stage name Guzzy Bear and addressed many social issues through this vessel. The popularity of this has led to a social media following of over 30 thousand people in less than 6 months and millions of views and shares from a very diverse demographic.Guz made his stand-up comedy debut opening for the internationally renowned Aamer Rahman, on his sell out tour The Truth Hurts in 2014, the quality of his debut performance warranted attention from the BBC at this point. He continued to work on solo projects and juggle his full time career as a qualified secondary school teacher, also writing and appearing in several comedy adverts commissioned by various charities in the UK.

SUNIL PATEL

Sunil Patel is is a calm, ultra-downbeat stand-up with an aloof, outsider perspective who describes himself as a real misery guts, but can find laughs in the bleakest of topics.Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee 2013BBC New Comedy Award Finalist 2012Time Out's "One to Watch" 2013Piccadilly Comedy Club New Act of the Year Winner 2012Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Finalist 2013
