Formed in 1976, Tradition came out of North West London and were initially known as Special Brew. With numerous acclaimed releases throughout the late 70's and 80's, they were signed to RCA Records and enjoyed success with reggae audiences, taking an active stance against racism performing at concerts organised by the Anti Nazi League. With some of the original members leaving the group to pursue solo careers Tradition split in 1983 and reformed twenty years later much to the delight of their fans.
