(Est 2001) Leicester's Longest Running Monthly Drum & Bass Night! Genetic was created by Marc 'Disfunktion' with good friends Sam and Jamie 'Jaydan' in late 2000, The idea behind the event was to offer big named artists whilst incorporating local up & coming Dj's and Mc's to perform with the headline acts on the night. After much planning and hard work the first night was launched on Saturday 7th August 2001, The event was a great success and within days people were talking about it and asking when the next one would be. So after the first event a new Drum & Bass night was born in Leicester and we have not looked back since. We are proud to have achieved promoting Genetic continuously with no breaks over the last 8 years which has proved hard to do but we have remained dedicated to giving Leicester a regular night to go to. Genetic has had a number of homes over the years to include Leicester Square, Club Soho, with a couple of one off events at various venues around Leicester, Then in 2005 we moved on to our current home The Music Cafe, a legendary venue located in the heart of the Leicester nightlife/student population hosting our monthly Club Genetic nights, We also take over Demontfort University @ Dsu, Level 1 for The Big Allnighter events. Over the years Genetic has had its ups and downs with big losses like all nights, but we kept pushing on and we have worked very hard to make Genetic what it is today. Genetic is now Leicester's longest running monthly Drum & Bass night which often attracts full to capacity events. We are very proud of what we have achieved and will continue to throw top class parties and be at the forefront of the Leicester Drum & Bass scene.
